Uer experience or UX as it is most commonly referred to\u00a0is about making your users\u2019 website experience simple and enjoyable. We could\u00a0breakdown\u00a0the practice into three basic rules: utility (content), utilisability and design. On the internet as in real life, people are\u00a0always\u00a0in a hurry. Help them to\u00a0not lose\u00a0time and encourage them to come back to your website by implementing\u00a0this\u00a0super advice!<\/p>\n

A clear structure and architecture for your website<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Before starting, it\u2019s better to\u00a0take a minute\u00a0and think. How are you going to organize your information on your website?\u00a0You\u00a0want users to find their information easily! Create content groups and classify all of your information in the order of importance: menu, main pages, subsections\u2026 Most importantly, be logical! UX is a little bit of everything and having a good\u00a0site\u00a0architecture for a smooth navigation\u00a0is key.<\/p>\n

Simple menus<\/strong><\/h3>\n

We will never say\u00a0this\u00a0enough: users want to find their information easily and quickly. Your navigation menu will need to be concise, clear and at the top of your page. Use only one word per section (yes, we know that it\u00a0seems\u00a0difficult but it\u2019s part of the challenge). Do you want to add subsections? Well, add them in a drop-down menu.<\/p>\n

Respect the web conventions<\/strong><\/h3>\n

There are a certain number of rules to respect\u00a0online. Make sure that the color of\u00a0your\u00a0links change when you hover over them. Link your logo to the main page. Your purchase basket should be\u00a0at\u00a0the top right. User Experience doesn\u2019t mean lacking originality.\u00a0In fact, it\u2019s simply about being original\u00a0by playing within some\u00a0constraints.<\/p>\n

A refined design<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The most important\u00a0aspects\u00a0in web UX\u00a0are\u00a0not just the structure. Like any marketing project, design is\u00a0quintessential. A conscientious, refined and professional\u00a0looking\u00a0website is what everybody wants! However,\u00a0always\u00a0keep in mind that your visitors don\u2019t come to admire your design but to find information. A complicated website\u00a0will\u00a0make the navigation even more complicated.<\/p>\n

Some random but important elements<\/strong><\/h3>\n

  • Find a color chart and respect it<\/li>\n
  • Same goes for the structure of your page: classify your information everywhere in the same order<\/li>\n
  • Adopt a simple and readable font<\/li>\n
  • Include beautiful and good quality pictures<\/li>\n
  • Don\u2019t overload your pages: your information must be relevant and easy to find<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A well-performing and\u00a0<\/strong>fast\u00a0<\/strong>website<\/strong><\/p>\n

    A website that is quick to load is an easy to\u00a0surf\u00a0website.\u00a0Visit\u00a0your website without having to refresh. For example,\u00a0if you have an ecommerce section, make sure that the customer can continue shopping once\u00a0their\u00a0\u00a0items have been added to their cart.<\/p>\n

    Test your website<\/strong><\/h3>\n

    Explore all kinds of platforms: Windows, Mac, Safari, Google Chrome, Firefox\u2026 It\u2019s usually there that\u00a0you\u00a0notice the mistakes that\u00a0you\u00a0wouldn\u2019t have\u00a0found\u00a0otherwise. Above all and most importantly, make your website responsive! More than half of the people online\u00a0do so\u00a0on their\u00a0tablets or mobile devices.
